Born to a Scottish father and English mother, Josie grew up in a chutney and jam-making household in Surrey, England, an hour south of London. Learning at her mother’s elbow, she inherited a passion for transforming seasonal fruits and vegetables into year-round delights.

About Josie

Josie and boxesA true Renaissance woman, Josie has an M.A. in Theatre from the University of Glasgow and a Master of Divinity degree from Yale. She founded a non-profit arts foundation in Scotland, studied acting at Stella Adler in New York City, and is now married to an American writer and living in sunny Southern California. A full-time mom, cook and actress, Josie is the proud mother of one lad, one lass, and Josie’s English Kitchen™.
